Twitter campaign to mark Care Experienced History Month

Care Experienced History Month takes place every April and helps to promote recognition of the care experienced background of historical figures.

To support this initiative Go Higher West Yorkshire will tweet throughout the month about inspirational people of historical significance. They will come from varying fields and the messages will highlight the type of care they experienced, such as kinship or foster care.

The aim of this is to provide insight into the different types of care while still celebrating the successes of those involved. While each of the spotlighted individuals have well known achievements, their origins may be less widely recognised.

Keep an eye out for a brief discussion of each person’s care experience, starting with John Lennon’s time in kinship care, by following @GoHigherWY on Twitter.
