Collaborative play boosts skills at Leeds City College
Leeds City College officially opened its state-of-the-art drama facility at its new Quarry Hill campus with a special performance in partnership with Leeds Playhouse.
The 200-capacity theatre hosted ‘Influence’, a new youth driven play by Andy McGregor that showcased the talent of local creatives. The production saw the College’s facilities, students and staff collaborate with Leeds Playhouse Youth Theatre.
The theatre, which has industry-leading backstage technical equipment, is just one of the many creative features on the £60m campus. It also boasts a costume workshop, recording and film studios, and gallery space.
The play’s partnership work is part of a long-term joint commitment to promote collaboration within the city’s Cultural Quarter. The Playhouse has pledged to offer support and guidance to the College’s students through skills training and work experience wherever possible.
