Care to Go Higher CPD: Autumn cohort reflections

The autumn cohort of our Care To Go Higher CPD course has now wrapped up, and we are delighted to celebrate another successful programme.

Delivered between September and November 2025, the programme helped a fantastic group of people who work with care-experienced young people to be more informed about the interaction of care-experience and Higher Education (HE).

Participants took part in interesting discussions and group activities, asked thoughtful questions and shared valuable experiences from their own practice. We are delighted that eight of the cohort have achieved CPD certification. Congratulations to them!

A highlight of this cohort was the generous contribution of our guest speakers. We welcomed a range of voices including HE professionals, a care-experienced student and partners from national charities. Their insights brought real depth to our conversations and helped ground the programme content in lived experience and current sector practice.

Watching participants grow in confidence and knowledge over the course of the programme is always rewarding. This cohort demonstrated a real passion for supporting care-experienced young people to explore opportunities in HE and we are excited to see the impact participants will continue to make in their organisations.

We received some excellent feedback from our participants, highlighting the valuable nature of the course. One participant shared: “Really informative, I feel like I’ve learned loads! I’m definitely more confident in speaking about Uni to my young people.”

Another told us: “Very informative and I liked the variety – knowledge, guest speakers, news. Plenty of opportunity for group discussions which was very beneficial too.”

The next Care To Go Higher CPD cohort will open in the new year, so keep an eye on our website for registration details. We would love to welcome you or your colleagues to join us.
