Exploring STEM with University of Leeds

Last week 15 students from Cockburn Academy went to the “Explore STEM” event at University of Leeds with a number of schools across Leeds and Wakefield. This was a great event and opportunity for students to learn more about what STEM is and what it would be like to study in this area at a higher level. There were sessions in University labs on DNA and how to understand physics through Lego. As their first trip to a Higher Education campus this was a really enjoyable experience for all students involved all of which said they would like to go on a trip of this nature in the future and explore more of what University and Higher Education has to offer them!
