No White Flag – Jamie Peacock give motivational talk at Airedale Academy
In the Autumn term, Airedale Academy has a very special visitor in school. Jamie Peacock MBE came to meet with our Year 11 male students to inspire them for this very important and challenging year ahead.
His personal story of how he went from an average amateur rugby league player, who had been over looked by professional clubs at the age of 18, to Great Britain rugby captain was truly inspirational.
Jamie delivered a series of key messages to help our year 11 to create clear goals and to achieve them!
Jamie’s motivational ‘No White Flag’ talk explained how using the skills in the areas of leadership, goal setting, self-belief, positive attitude and honesty helped him overcome his barriers and become one of England’s best leaders and rugby captains.
One of Year 11 students who attended commented “This talk has really helped me to think differently, more positively about the future and not to doubt myself so much”
Tim-Tim Chambers, Assistant Principal from Airedale Academy commented “From the outset, Jamie fully engaged all of our students with his motivational talk, he encouraged the students to aim high and go that extra mile”.
Jamie will be visiting Airedale Academy through this academic year doing a series of more intensive and progressive workshops with this group of students to raise their aspirations, develop their resilience and help them realise their full potential.
