Fully funded course helps recent graduates into employment

Do you know any recent graduates who are looking for a graduate job? GradSkills: Graduate Accelerator could boost their chances by offering free coaching with an experienced coach and guidance practitioner.

Graduate Accelerator is a fully funded course that delivers up to five one-to-one coaching sessions, plus self-directed learning, and six hours of face-to-face training at a university campus in either Leeds, Bradford, or Huddersfield. Participants can choose one of three themes for their face-to-face training:

  • Working in the UK – this theme is aimed at international graduates who are planning to apply for a Graduate Visa and work in the UK. It will focus on the skills shortage and high-growth areas in West Yorkshire, particularly professional services and digital, but graduates who are seeking work in other sectors will also benefit.
  • Leadership and Management – this one-day introduction to leadership and management will cover key aspects of leadership and self-management, commercial awareness and evaluation, assertive communication skills, and setting SMART objectives.
  • Making a Difference – this theme will work with employers and professionals in housing, information and advice, community development, youth services, justice, post-compulsory education, and other areas to de-mystify roles, application processes, qualification pathways, key attributes and working patterns.

GradSkills: Graduate Accelerator is a 6–8-week programme requiring weekly commitment, however, there is some flexibility based on the availability of the participants.

Recent graduates can book a welcome meeting here to find out more about the course and to help determine their suitability for the Graduate Accelerator course versus the flexible online course, Jumpstart Your Career.

GradSkills is a three-year project delivered in partnership with Go Higher West Yorkshire, led by Leeds Trinity University, and funded by West Yorkshire Combined Authority.
