Go Higher in Apprenticeships resource launched for learners and advisers

Go Higher West Yorkshire (GHWY) Uni Connect has launched a new guide that helps young people to understand and access higher-level and degree apprenticeships.

Go Higher in Apprenticeships, which is available for free download, will be of interest to anyone who wants to explore educational options beyond traditional university pathways.

The resource includes information about, among other things:

  • Discover alternative pathways: Learn how apprenticeships offer a viable route to higher education qualifications.
  • Earn while you learn: Find out how you can receive a competitive salary while studying for a respected qualification
  • Step-by-step application advice: Access top tips on researching opportunities, crafting standout applications, and preparing for interviews and assessment days
  • Overcome challenges: Get insights into balancing work, study, and personal life, and learn strategies to manage your commitments effectively

An apprenticeship is a paid job where an individual learns and gains experiences through on-the-job training, supplemented with 20% of their time completing classroom-based or distance-learning with a college, university or training provider that leads to a nationally recognised qualification.

GHWY is committed to helping young people make informed decisions about Higher Education (HE) and raising awareness of the educational pathways that are available.
