Evaluative Case Studies
‘Telling a story’ is a powerful and emotive way of communicating impact. Due to their individualised nature, case studies enable us to develop in-depth narratives about people’s experiences of situations, occurrences and programme engagement. Using a longitudinal approach, case studies can spotlight specific decision-making processes at play, impact journeys and the context in which change occurs.
GHWY is adopting longitudinal case studies as a new qualitative evaluation method for our sustained outreach and attainment-raising programmes. Not designed to purely showcase, the purpose of these case studies is:
- To investigate the impact of engagement with our programme on learners through time.
- To humanise impact demonstrated by statistical data.
- To communicate a ‘typical’ or ‘aspirational’ example of a learner’s experience.
