Introducing the Go Higher West Yorkshire ‘Uni Connect Podcast’
Go Higher West Yorkshire is today (Thursday 26 January) launching ‘Uni Connect Podcast’, a brand new monthly podcast series exploring all things you need to know about when studying and applying to higher education (HE).
In each episode we will be joined by guests from a range of higher education institutions, student ambassadors, career experts, admission gurus and more.
Guests will include students at the centre of the higher education process, with stories providing first-person views, listening to their experiences and top tips to help our listeners embark on your own higher education journey. We will also be accompanied by industry experts helping to delve deep into the core of everything you need to know about the higher education process.
The first episode looks at the UCAS application process, with guest Jasmine Simons, Admissions and Registration Officer at Leeds Conservatoire who answers questions from current students about the process, offering key advice and tips when considering where to study, the application process and ‘does and don’ts’ for personal statements.
We then dive into the ‘student voice’ with Sam, an aspiring actor from Preston, studying at Leeds Conservatoire who discusses his experiences going through the UCAS process and applying.
Stay tuned, as next month we focus on apprenticeships to support Apprenticeship Week from 6th – 12th of February. With guest employers offering interview advice and current apprentices sharing their experiences, it is set to be an eye opening episode!
