Register for GHWY Teachers’ and Advisers’ Conference 2026 

Registration is now open for Go Higher West Yorkshire’s (GHWY) collaborative Teachers’ and Advisers’ Conference.  

The theme for this year’s one-day event is ‘Championing Diversity in Higher Education (HE)’. It will feature a keynote speech from Tracy Brabin (Mayor of West Yorkshire) in addition to insightful discussions, student voice, and meaningful networking. 

The free conference will be held on Friday, 10 July at 9.15am-2.45pm at Leeds College of Building (South Bank Campus). Lunch will be provided. 

Now in its third year, the Conference is aimed at anyone who supports young people to make informed choices. This includes but is not limited to teachers, careers advisers, local authority staff, and other professionals.

What you can expect 

Highlights from the Conference include:  

  • Keynote speech from Tracy Brabin (Mayor of West Yorkshire) about skills and growth in relation to education 
  • Parallel sessions on the diversity of access to HE, including Clearing and UCAS Personal Statements  
  • Breakout sessions that champion the diversity of under-represented groups, including disabled students 
  • Panel of commuter students 

There will also be a marketplace where attendees can talk to representatives from our 13 HE partners.
