Subject areas: This event will be relevant to learners studying a range of subjects but especially for business, engineering and STEM subjects.

Description:

Leadership and Management has been identified by the West Yorkshire Combined Authority/employers as a key future skill need. In response to this, GHWY is offering a new Go Higher in…Management and Leadership event, hosted by the University of Huddersfield.

Students will discover what it takes to develop the highly valued skills of leadership and management and learn about what industries these skills can be applied to. The day will feature lots of interactive and engaging sessions including a the motivational and inspirational business speaker from ‘The Apprentice’ Adam Corbally. Perfect for students from any area of study this skills-boosting day will help students exercise and develop these essential skills.

Description:

Join Go Higher West Yorkshire’s Go Higher in… Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) event hosted at Leeds Beckett University. Featuring sessions from Kirklees College, Leeds Beckett University and local employers students will get an opportunity to explore various sectors of the STEM industry including study pathways and career options in an interactive and engaging format. Subjects included feature engineering, finance and quantity surveying.

Featuring sessions from both the University of Bradford and Leeds City College students will get a first hand insight into the careers within the Health and Social Care sector as well as getting to a practical experience as to what it is like to work/study in this area.

Description:

Returning this year is the GHWY Go Higher in…Policing event, once again hosted by Leeds Trinity University. This popular day features delivery from West Yorkshire Police Department delving into the different career paths that are on offer within policing and the public sector. With both practical and theoretical sessions student will get to learn first hand what it takes to succeed in this industry.

GHWY are excited to off a Go Higher in…Digital Media event hosted at Leeds Arts University featuring collaboration from Bradford College. With a focus on Artificial Intelligence, Creative Media and work experience students with an interest in the creative industry will get an exciting and unique opportunity. Receiving an industry level experience, with first class facilities and professional level challenges set for them from businesses operating within the sector students will get an exclusive insight into what may be waiting for them within the creative sector.
