Description:

The Health and Social Care industry is one of the largest employers in West Yorkshire and an area that our learners are increasingly interested in. With such a broad range of roles and specialist areas, it can be overwhelming for students to know which subjects to study and routes to pursue.

Thankfully this year Go Higher West Yorkshire and the West Yorkshire Combined Authority are collaborating to deliver an exciting, hands on and insightful Go Higher in…Health and Social Care. The event will explore traditional industry careers and workplaces (nursing, social care, physio) as well as roles learners may not have considered (physiotherapy, podiatry, radiology). From the start of the event, learners will have an opportunity to interact with industry equipment, take part in exciting challenges and have access to local employers to gain a key insight into their potential future. Learners will then join a carousel of workshops designed to shed light on some of the lesser known routes into Health and Social Care careers and workplaces, featuring exciting workshops from Medical Mavericks, university academics and other industry professionals/representatives.
