Video campaign to promote benefits of studying HE in college-based setting

Go Higher West Yorkshire (GHWY) and Uni Connect are set to film a video campaign that will highlight the Unique Selling Points of studying HE in a college-based setting.

The partnership will use a local production company and the film will cover employability and industry links, care leaver support, SEND support, adult learners, facilities, alternative routes. The films and resources will be housed on the existing GHWY website.

The newly convened West Yorkshire University Centre and College Alliance (West YUCCA) – which is comprised of HEPs and POs based in GHWY FE colleges – is currently pooling existing resources for the campaign.

It is hoped that filming will start in early July and all will be promoted over the Summer.

YUCCA is a working group of the FE/Colleges Network Meetings. These allow managers and practitioners across our region’s FE centres/colleges to discuss the everchanging experiences and barriers they are facing and provide a platform to work towards possible solutions. An action from one of its meetings was to create a working group to promote HE in an FE setting.

The name of the group provides scope to collaborate with other Yorkshire Uni Connect partnerships in the future, which Uni Connect is keen to do more of through Phase 3.

Keep visiting GHWY’s website for more progress reports on the video campaign and YUCCA’s other work.
