This report by Go Higher West Yorkshire presents insights from the evaluation of the Care to Go Higher programme pilot. The training equips key influencers to support care-experienced young people in making informed educational choices.
Findings show the programme significantly enhances participants’ understanding of higher education, particularly for care-experienced young people, and strengthens their ability to advocate and influence positively.
The report calls for a collaborative approach to widening participation, engaging whole communities and lived experiences. It recommends local authorities partner with higher education providers to equip corporate parenting teams with high expectations, exposure to diverse HE options, and the tools to support informed decisions.
