Session 6 – Go Visit

This sixth and final session ideally will be delivered in a university or college setting. If this is not possible, it can be delivered in a school setting.

The session will take approximately 2 - 2.5 hours to deliver.

Please note - Go Higher West Yorkshire are not able to arrange visits to universities or colleges for this session. Please see the contacts for our GHWY Higher Education Providers who may be able to support with any requests.

Learners will have the one of three exciting challenges:
 - Ice Cream Enterprise Challenge (Y8) - Learners will work as a group to create and market their own ice cream product, then present their ideas to a panel of judges.
 - Earthquake Proof Building Challenge (Y9) - Learners will work as a group to design and build a structure capable of surviving an earthquake, then present their ideas to a panel of judges.
 - Technology Research Challenge (Y10) - Learners will work as a group to research and develop their side of the argument related to the question ‘Is digital technology making children’s lives better?’ They will then present this to a panel of judges.

This session will draw on the skills learner have developed throughout the previous five sessions; Go Connect, Go Analyse, Go Debate, Go Collaborate and Go Present.
