Showcasing impact in Go Higher West Yorkshire’s annual report 2024-25

Major projects that Go Higher West Yorkshire (GHWY) delivered during academic year 2024-25, including the launch of the West Yorkshire Boys’ Impact Hub and the ongoing delivery of the Think and Go Higher programme, can be read about in our latest annual report.

The document has a strong focus on demonstrating outcomes and the evidence-base that underpins our activities. Our evaluation methods, which have been cited as best practice by the Office for Students, have been strengthened this year through the introduction of a new evaluation framework and the launch of automated survey analysis tools.

During this period, we also launched e-learning to help Higher Education (HE) staff to better understand and support disabled students. The training addressed the lack of confidence that many staff members across our partnership felt in supporting these individuals. Nearly 100 people have registered for the course since its launch.

Other key achievements over the last 12 months include the ongoing delivery of our Go Higher Industry Insight Programme – which offered insights into progression pathways, employer interactions, and real-life skills development to over 250 students – and the commencement of Access and Participation Plan-focused evaluation training for HE provider staff – which helped over 50 people to better understand how to measure the impact of what they and their teams deliver.

In addition, the report details some of our upcoming activities and resources. These include the launch of a new schools and colleges e-newsletter, which will support staff to help learners make informed choices, and our Teachers’ and Advisers’ Conference 2026.

Our work to reduce inequalities in access to and success in HE will continue throughout 2025-26. You can keep up to date with all our activities by subscribing to our free monthly e-newsletter.
