Key Stage 3-4: Black, Asian and Minoritised ethnic learner resources

The “Go Higher Presents” resource series guides learners through three engaging sessions exploring higher education, independence, and self-reflection. Delivered through interactive activities, student-led podcasts, and personal planning tools, each session encourages young people to think critically about their futures.

Session 1: What is Higher Education?

This introductory session raises awareness of Higher Education (HE), helping learners understand what it is, why it matters, and how it connects to their lives.

Delivery tools include: slides, delivery notes, optional writing materials, and discussion-based tasks​.

Session 2: Exploring Independence

This session explores what independence means and how it connects to life as a HE student. Learners reflect on their current levels of independence and set goals for growth.

Delivery tools include: slides, delivery notes, printed roadmap worksheets, and group discussions​.

Session 3: Self-Reflection and Planning Ahead

The final session encourages learners to reflect on their identity, values, and aspirations, and to begin planning their next steps in education.
