
This three-part resource series supports learners from Black, Asian and Minoritised Ethnic backgrounds to explore higher education through the lens of identity, representation, and lived experience. Over three interactive sessions, students engage in discussions, critical thinking tasks, and creative podcast production to share their voices and shape a vision for inclusive HE.
Session 1: Identity and Representation in HE
This session introduces the programme’s key themes: identity, bias, representation, and how they relate to experiences in higher education.
Delivery tools include: workbook, presentation slides, A4 paper, posters, post-it notes, embedded video clips
Session 2: Positionality and Progression to HE
Building on Session 1, this session helps learners explore how their identity and lived experience shape their decisions around HE.
Delivery tools include: workbook, presentation slides, learner-led discussions, and reflective writing
Session 3: Podcast Creation – Your Voice, Your HE
The final session supports learners to plan, record, and reflect on a podcast that captures their thoughts, experiences, and ideas about HE.
Delivery tools include: podcasting equipment or phones, workbook, warm-up worksheet, reflection activities
