Inclusive learning

“Inclusive learning and teaching recognises all students’ entitlement to a learning experience that respects diversity, enables participation, removes barriers and anticipates and considers a variety of learning needs and preferences” (Imperial College London).

Examples include:

  • If a student does not have writing skills to take a test, allowing them to give an oral presentation instead
  • Sharing PowerPoint slides with students in advance of a lecture or seminar
  • Recording and captioning a presentation
  • Planning an activity with lots of breaks to help students keep a focus
